Life Goals: Loving and Taking Care of Yourself
Everyday of our lives, we are working so hard for our families, to be successful in our career, to achieve our dreams and to be able to influence others with our skills, talents, and intelligence. People nowadays are so busy with many things, and because almost all hours are mostly spent for work, there’s no time to rest, meditate and see a doctor. Fathers wake up early to be ready for work and stay up late at night to finish a paperwork, while mothers are busy taking care of their children, preparing meals, doing household chores and attending their kid’s school events. And mind you, even single young adults can’t find time to exercise, because they are also busy with work or socializing, and prefer eating in a fast food, restaurant or in their apartment with easy-to-prepare but not nutritious meals.
According to studies, overweight or obesity is continuously increasing annually, because junk food and processed food are being falsely advertised, but do not really give any health benefits. We don’t realize the importance of our bodies, but we have to be enlightened and be serious about loving and taking care our bodies, because it is our only vessel to enjoy life to the fullest, with our families and friends. Start by selecting fresh fruits and vegetables in the supermarket than processed food. Fresh bananas are easy to grab, stirring a glass of milk and eating a homemade food are easy with time management. The the rule is the less processed the food is the higher is its nutritional value, and the lower the calories, bad cholesterol and preservatives, such as whole grains, oatmeals, and cereals, honey, brown or muscovado sugar than white sugar, and brown rice than white rice.
It can be hard finding a time to exercise, but we need to do it, and this can be achieved by setting an alarm to our smartphones to remind us about our own exercise time. Once you’re used to it, it becomes your hobby and then a daily routine, or as a normal part of your everyday activities, and you will surely notice a big improvement not only physically but also psychologically. Use the staircase instead of the elevator, walk instead of driving nearby grocery store, and take some time running, swimming or playing your favorite sport on your free time.
